Peter Glassford

Peter has been coaching for 8 years. He started by helping local clubs and friends with their training. Then following completion of his University Degree he met Steve Neal, (www.crossfitorangeville.com) and began 5 years of apprenticeship under Steve. Peter developed as a coach and together Steve and Peter grew Steve Neal Performance to one of the most well-known and successful coaching groups in the country. 


Beyond the press worthy results like National Team and National Championships, I take pride in the great personal achievements my clients have made. 
These Include: 
   - Many upgrades from Beginner to Sport to Expert and even to Elite
   - Learning essential skills to become 'real' cyclists or mountain bikers
   - Personal bests in events as varied as the Ironman, running events, Transrockies, Leadville 100 (LV100), BC Bike Race (BCBR) and Xterra events. 
    - 100 Miler and MTB Marathon Completion, including those training only 8 hours a week
     - Many Successful Crank the Shield Blog Followers at 2007-2010 Crank the Shield
     - 40km TT improvements. 
     - 5hr Hill climbs in Hawaii 
      - Beginner cyclist goes from zero cycling to Alpe D'Huez in 5 weeks Prep!


Beyond specific sport performance Peter’s interest lies heavily in optimizing one’s daily life through stress and nutritional intervention. Over the last few years Peter, at times with help from a group of like-minded medical professionals, has helped clients overcome or improve insulin-blood sugar, sleep, allergies, asthma, chronic stress, body composition, intestinal parasites and general health. 


These experiences have led him to create ‘Smart Athlete Training’ with a focus on helping clients achieve great health first and then using that strong base to create Best performances!
